Re: Your favourite Dr. Who
the Green death was the best story ever.

I can't choose between Tom Baker, Eccleston as the dark U Boat captain, Tennant or Capaldi.

Its amazing that it survived the morass of Davidson, Colin Baker and McCoy.

Tom Baker was only scary during the opening credits with the theme music. I, like many, apparently, used to hide behind the sofa until that had finished, then I could happily watch the rest, be it daleks, cybermen or whatever, and loved Tom Baker's character. I just couldn't handle the way he stared at me with that vortex behind him and the weeeeeoooooeeeee! blaring out.

Saw one with David Tennant set at a boys school just before WWI. Was surprisingly moving.

Never knew that, he would have been a really dark Doctor.

Patrick Troughton although i saw the brilliant 'Blink' episode with Tennant's Doctor barely in it and starring Carey Mulligan the other night and it reminded me how much better the writing is now.

No one could accuse him for lack of brevity...

Re: Your favourite Dr. Who
Eccleston for me. He had a massive responsibility as first one when it was revived. Set a standard which Tennant just about lived up to and Smith ruined but Capaldi is making up lost ground.

Roger Delgado - the quintessential master, IMHO. Simm was good, though.

Re: Your favourite Dr. Who
how about Christopher Ecclestone ?

it had been a bit of a laughing stock with its pantomime coats and scarfs
he brought it back with a GRITTIER image

Re: Your favourite Dr. Who
The best one they never picked was Ken Campbell, they chose that useless Sylvester McCoy instead.

Of the rest Patrick Troughton by a mile John Pertwee was good but trying to be too much like James Bond for me.
